VA Elective CE: 2 hours (Each course listed below will give one hour per course of elective continuing education credit)

ABC of Deeds (1 Hour) Deeds are the culmination of all the work that real estate agents do for their clients in all real estate transactions, but are also not fully understood. Understanding the basics and history of deeds will greatly assist real estate agents in preparing the sale of their home or understanding the rationale of why title commitments require certain things completed. Ultimately, understanding these basics and history will assist agents in providing a smoother experience for their clients when issues relating to title occur. 

Understanding Surveys (1 Hour) The course’s aim is to help real estate licensees learn the history of lot lines, metes, and bounds, the basics of a survey, what types of issues can be revealed in a survey, and the effects of title insurance on survey results. This knowledge will help licensees understand the results of a survey and guide clients on what to look for as part of a survey.
